Hello and welcome to Dr. Kale - a blog about women's health with real information from real sources.
As an ob-gyn, woman's health specialist, athlete, and woman, I try to be as up to date as possible about current recommendations for women. One of the challenges of this is making sure the information is supported by data and clinically relevant. I have created this website as a reference resource for current, relevant, data-supported information for my patients, my friends, and all of you.
I'm very open to feedback so please let me know if you see something you like, don't like, or if there is a topic you'd like to see addressed.
Some Important Disclaimers:
1. I believe strongly in privacy, particularly of my patients, so while I may use the gist of a patient interaction to discuss an interesting topic, all names, dates, and identifying information have been changed about my patients and some about my family and friends, in order to protect their privacy.
2. I am a physician, but unless I'm YOUR physician and have fully assessed your history and examined you, all advice here is general and should not be taken as medical advice to YOU. If you have questions about your health, you should always talk to YOUR physician.
3. I am a woman, but I'm not necessarily you. Everything here is literature-based and data-drive but is obviously my interpretation of the literature and current events, which is not the only way. I'm excited to hear about other point of views.
I'm excited to see where this goes!
